I love words. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why I’m a writer. I also love beautiful designs. Just looking at pretty things gives me feel good vibes. When you put the two together and create beautifully presented words, I’m over the moon. That’s why I love exploring all kinds of stationary and card shops, especially in the run-up to Valentine’s Day.
Every shop seems to have a diverse selection of positive, loving messages printed on beautiful cards. Yes, some might be a bit cheesy and others might be a bit provocative. But overall, there’s a lovely spread available.
I was in one of these shops last Monday picking a card for my darling fiancé. I immediately knew which one to go for but I still enjoyed scrolling through the full selection without any rush or deadline. As I was looking at the beautiful messages on these cards, it hit me.
It’s so much easier to say these lovely things to your loved ones than it is to say them to yourself. Think about it. When was the last time you gave someone you love a compliment – or just said something nice or supportive to them? What about when you redirect this question to yourself: When was the last time you gave yourself a compliment – or internally said something nice or supportive to yourself?
If you’re anything like me, you might struggle with the second question. That’s why I’m facing it head-on. I want to spread some feel good vibes for you and me both. That’s why I’ve written a list of positive messages I want you to read to yourself.
Grab a cup of coffee, herbal tea, or juice – or even wine if you’re treating yourself – and relax. Make yourself comfortable and take a deep breath. Look at each of these messages – and read every single one of them out loud. Direct them to yourself, accept every word, and welcome the feel good vibes with gratitude.
You are glowing. Your smile lights up the world.
You are strong. Your resilience is inspirational.
You are brave. The way you live your life empowers me.
You are trying your best. Always remember that.
You are beautiful. Exactly the way you are.
You are perfectly imperfect. And imperfectly perfect.
You are more than enough. Way more than enough.
You are special. So much more special than you could ever imagine.
You are so lovely. You really are.
What if you were to continue this stream of positive messages? What could you say to yourself that you already say to your loved ones?
Pick up a pen and paper and write some things down. Imagine your best friend or loving partner was telling you what they loved about you. What would they say?
If you want to spread these feel good vibes, please share this post with your friends and loved ones. Share it with someone who really needs to hear these positive messages today.
Finally, I’m wishing you a very Happy Valentine’s Day – may it be full of love!
Sending you light & joy,
