The start of a new year, a new phase in your life or a big change can add a lot of unnecessary pressure into your life. You’ve just survived the holiday season with the family (drama), made the leap into this new phase of your life or boldly made this change that perhaps many objected to. You want to carry on with clarity, confidence and focus. Yet, it’s tricky to get clear on what matters most and know where or how to steer the boat. You’re not alone.
Most media outlets spend all day every day telling you how to improve yourself, to get better, to set goals, to change further, and to become the best possible version of yourself. Hence, it’s no wonder you feel stressed. Fortunately, life doesn’t have to be this way.
You don’t have to obsess about setting clear, overwhelming goals and making ambitious, fast-paced plans to reach them. You don’t have to look at your life and pinpoint everything that you think you should change. Finally, you don’t have to look at yourself either and feel like you have to do habits x, y and z in order to become a better version of you. You don’t even have to think about your dreams if you don’t want to. No, you really don’t have to do any of that because you don’t have to change. You don’t need to improve yourself. You don’t need to have your best year yet. Why? Because you’re enough exactly the way you are. Your life, as it is, is enough too.
Instead of aiming for overwhelming change, look for more calm and contentment instead. Choose to set an intention for your way of life and choose to make it feel good. Get in touch with who you are and what you most appreciate. Remind yourself of what matters most to you and use that to steer your life into one full of fulfilment. You’ll let these things guide you with meaning and purpose, and welcome change when the time is right. Then, when change does come, you’ll get through it a lot more easily and happily.
This is what The Gentle Steer is all about. Every chapter in the book, you will receive one tip, life hack or exercise to do to set the right intention for your life. By the end of the book, you will have a word to guide you in your life right now, a mantra you can repeat whenever in doubt, a visualisation meditation you can listen to whenever in need of clarity, a vision board you can glance at daily to remind yourself of where you’re aspiring to head, and so much more.
Most importantly, you will feel calmer, more confident and more content about what’s ahead, whilst having a new toolkit of tips and tricks you can use throughout your days to keep these feelings alive.
The Gentle Steer is delivered in the form of a downloadable ebook and includes:
– 10 short chapters with a tip, life hack or exercise in each
– 2 audios on steering yourself that you can listen to whenever you want
– A list of recommended resources you can dive deeper into later
