How to attract happiness into your life

Have you sometimes wondered how some people seem to have everything going for them? How come they are so lucky and you’re not? The one thing that could be separating you from them is they know how to attract happiness through their thoughts.

The law of attraction is based on the theory that whatever you focus on you will attract from the universe. This means that whatever is dominant in your thoughts, actions and even sometimes your subconscious is what you’ll attract into your life. But we all know we have plenty of mind chatter so how can we teach our mind to focus on what we want and attract the happiness we wish for?


Tips on how to attract happiness into your life

  1. Be grateful for the things you have and appreciate your life. You’ll send positive vibes out and hence you’ll attract even more things which you’re grateful for.
  2. Believe you can achieve the goals you set. If you doubt yourself, the universe sees that as you not being ready for it yet and hence it won’t allow you to reach your goal. However if you believe in yourself, you’re much more aware of the opportunities that the universe will throw at you to get you closer to your goal.
  3. Focus on what you want (vs. what you don’t want). Whatever your mind focuses on is what you’ll attract so focus on the positive want. For example, think “I want to find a job that’s meaningful and fun” instead of “I hate my job because it’s boring and doesn’t mean anything to me.”
  4. Be consistent in your thoughts and positivity. It’s not an over the night, fast fix. It’s a mindset you practise for life.
  5. Be open minded. Sometimes opportunities may arise which you didn’t think of before but they will get you closer to your goal. Be open minded to this as new opportunities for your happiness can come from unexpected places.
  6. Follow your intuition. Your gut is more often right than not. Learn to listen to it.

    What you focus on you attract…………………………….I been thinking about my ex girl friend ever since we broke up, she is always on my mind so I have focused on her but I hav’ent attracted her to me. Can you explain how it works.

    • Hi Ian – Thanks for your comment!
      The law of attraction works on the power of the mind but also needs concrete action to make it happen. If you’re focusing on something with your mind, you now have to take some action i.e. doing something to advance this thought and make it happen.

      The key message here is about focusing on the positives you have and what you’re grateful for, as then you’re more likely to notice more things you’re grateful for.
      The key is to remain open minded and focus your efforts on life overall and not on one particular thing, such as one person from a past relationship. This presents a risk of making your happiness depend on one thing only when in fact you should find a bit of happiness from many different activities in your life and you’re more likely to have sustained happiness.

    hi ian I have a problem with smokless tobacco can I use the law of attraction to kick the habit and how would I go about it?

    • Hi Shawn
      You might find the comments I left for Ian useful. With law of attraction you have to think of the positive option e.g. “I’m going to have only healthy lifestyle habits from now on” – and then you have to combine it with action.
      With this positive thought in mind, build your new routine around it. Maybe when you’re craving it, you take some chewing gum instead. It may also be useful to find support networks for this as when you’re doing it together with others, you’re more likely to succeed.
