Find a Way to Never Ever Give Up [video]

Do you have a dream? Something that you’ve always wanted to do but never prioritised it enough? Or maybe something you’ve already started working towards? Whatever the dream ┬áis, whatever stage you are in in going after your dreams, make sure you find a way to never ever give up.

I recently came across this incredibly inspirational TED talk by Diana Nyad to talks about how she decided to never ever give up on her dream of swimming from Cuba to Florida. She spoke about her unwavering commitment to this dream that was engraved so deep in her soul. There was no way she would give up on it. And at the age of 62 she completed her dream. Let her take you on this awe-inspiring journey.

Remember to believe and have faith. If you do, you will find a way. If you do, you will get back up when you’ve been knocked down. You will persist through challenges with your fierce determination. Keep going on your journey with your full heart. Keep pursuing your dreams and find a way to never ever give up. And these three pointers Diana gave at the end of her talk say how she found a way to never ever give up.

  1. To be is to do. Put action behind your words. Never ever give up by behaving in a manner that shows you haven’t given up. By continuing to work towards that dream.
  2. You can chase your dreams at any age. Believe that dreams have no age limit.
  3. Surround yourself with the dream team. Together, the journey towards your dream will be less solitary and even more incredible.

And remember to enjoy that journey towards your dreams because it’s your epic journey of growth.

Never ever give up

Awesome. And it’s true: never give up on your dreams! I’d add the tip to break your dream down into manageable smaller tasks that work towards achieving your dream, and then make those part of your daily routine. In that way I created enough poems to make an old dream of mine come true: having a book published.

One more thing for the dreamers out there: some Finns made a wonderful website called Dreamdo, where you can share about your dreams and get others to help you make it come true. Or you can help others to make their dreams come true. Check it out here:

    • ‘Just visited – is a great site – thanks for sharing it!

    • Thanks for your extra tip Arjan – so sweet of you to share! I also tend to follow the motto “Goals are dreams with a plan” – that helps me stay on track. And congrats on getting a book published – that’s awesome!

Just checked out Dreamdo, absolutely love it, thanks for sharing! :)
And I’m extra proud it’s also made by fellow Finns ;)

  • I am particularly struck by the need to not fear failure, or is there any such thing as failure? I don’t think so. I recently posted my favorite videos on failure, which I think are the path to the realization of dreams.
Great post, great site – thanks!

    • Hi Spafford, thanks for your comment!
Yes failure is another taboo word that people seem to brand in all kinds of ways. I also agree you’ve got to stumble a bit in order to learn, and also the stumbling shows that you’re actually taking on a challenge!
You might enjoy a book called Positive Failure by Alastair Arnott, another fellow positive psychologist.
Thanks for your kind comments & have a great rest of the week! :)

There’s certainly a lot to learn about this subject. I love all
    the points you’ve made.

    • Glad you like the points!
Life is an ongoing journey of learning so I’m glad to hear you’re on it. Keep on learning & you’ll live your happiest, most fulfilling life in which you’ll be able to perform at your best! :)
